I am a Ph.D. student in Dr. Qilin Li’s lab, and I’m passionate about water research. My research interests include the fate, transport and toxicity of environmental pollutants in water, and advanced water treatment technologies as energy-efficient solutions to water quality issues.
I grew up in China and received my bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science in Beijing Normal University. During my undergraduate study, I learned how severe the water crisis is in China, in both big cities such as Beijing and rural areas. My graduate research at Rice focuses on the fate and transport of engineered nanomaterials (ENMs), in aquatic systems. In addition, I also participate in research projects on the toxicity of ENMs, nanotechnology-enabled water treatment, and control of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and genes. I am happy to be a member of Dr. Li’s research group, where I have been taking challenges in the passionate community to contribute to ensuring a sustainable water environment.
